Visited a few interesting places this weekend, it was pretty fun :)
First of all was this place called The Tastings Room @ Marina Square. Its just next to the road there, between citilink and MS, but quite troublesome to find if you dont know its there. Here’s a picture of the interior:

It was raining quite heavily outside and probably cos of that so the place was relatively empty, and the lighting and all was warm and cosy. Okay, its actually supposed to be like a wine tasting place, so there’s a whole wall full of different wines, but we didnt order any lah haha. Yup, tried the Crayfish Pasta and the Pan Fried Foie Gras. The Foie Gras was quite pathetic tbh, they only gave one slice of it as compared to at Tea Cosy, so yeah, not good. They were more generous with the crayfish though, there were four of them, as compared to the two at Swensons so yeah, good! :) Haha it seems like im judging food based on their quantity, but quite frankly, quantity counts as well lah, no one likes to pay for teeny tiny pieces of smt they dont even have to cut.
Oh and then halfway through my pasta I found some wire/ wrapper thingy inside my plate so I got the waitress over. She brought it over to the chef and there was this whole small commotion behind at the kitchen there (I didnt see what was happening cos i was facing away frm the kitchen). Soon after the waitress and chef came to our table and apologised and served us two Crème brûlées to make up for the inconvenience! Very nice right! That was in spite of me telling them it was alright and that I didn’t need a replacement of the pasta/ a cut in my bill! This restaurant I will definitely patronise again, unlike the Bakerzin @ Vivo, where I found a super long strand of hair in my spaghetti (strange that it always happens in noodl-y food) and all they did was peer curiously at it and act blur afterwards.
After lunch we caught Puss In Boots. It was rather funny but for the most part I found it too much like Shrek :/ The plot was just unrefreshing and I think they didn’t manage to do it justice; the story could have gone in so many more interesting ways! Its Puss In Boots, for goodness’s sake! Bet I could write a better screenplay than that.

After the movie we went to The Cookie Museum @ the Esplanade. Have always wanted to go there simply because it has such an interesting name :p haha its next to the Chocolate Bar, which sounds just as intriguing. Definitely going there next time too. The interior of the Cookie Museum was very English-y and super posh. I felt that the colours and patterns were all too vivid and bright and it kinda gave me a headache ack. Wish they could tone it down a little. Anyway, despite its name, this place’s menu is primarily comprised of tea. Like, many many different types of tea and trust me, there really is a large variety of them, I was quite stunned by it. The cookies referred to those that you eat along with your tea, and while they are not on the menu, they can be bought in boxes as can the tea leaves.
Very rich and regal, aye?
