Something about studying for lnats makes me feel like blogging.
Heyyyy so actually the past weekend’s been pretty awesome, I managed to pig out A LOT. Let me count the ways…
Friday:
I was on exercise off, so in fact I’d booked out Thursday nite (heehee). Made a reservation at Au Petit Salut (like, finally!) and yup, on Friday we went down to Dempsey for brunch! :D Haha I’ve been wanting to go since forever and thankfully it didn’t disappoint! Cabbed down to Dempsey Hill from Holland V, and luckily we did too, because its kinda hard to walk in, and given my crappy sense of direction we would probably have gotten lost on the way in. Not to mention the fact that it started raining A MINUTE after we sat down which was superduper lucky!
Okay let’s talk about the food. I had the pork rillette appetiser, beef cheeks as mains and the strawberry shortcake dessert. <3 The appetiser was quite good, and while I hated the salad (it was super bitter), the rillette more than made up for it. Its kinda like putting salmon spread on crackers, except in this case its putting pork on really crunchy bread. o.o The beef cheeks were succulent and just so soft! It just separated at the touch of my fork it almost seemed magical haha yumyum. Strawberry shortcake was tasty, but I liked Sam’s chocolate thingy better hmm.
Oh, the ambience at Au Petit Salut’s really great too! When I made the reservations they said there were only outside seats available, and I was wondering whats the diff/ if it would be very hot. But it rained just before we started eating, rmb? So in the end it was pleasantly cool next to the fake water fountain :) The entire restaurant’s set in the middle of a forest, so everywhere you looked there were just trees, its really as though you were dining in another country.
Alright, that was lunch. Dinner was at Tea Cosy @ PS, my fourth time going there this month I’ve tried like three of the five mains :/ Was still super full from lunch, so I decided to order the Smoked Salmon & Prawn Salad :3 Totally loved it! I think its because they were having some special menu with smoked salmon and had too much leftover, so they gave me alot of it! Haha definitely going back there for it next time :)
Watched Paranormal 3 after that. Didnt like it bleah, i thought it took quite an abrupt turn into a crappy ending. Aparently its linked to the previous two, but I’m definitely not gonna watch them, not on funshion or anth, and definitely not alone haha.
Tried the Cranberry White Chocolate Mocha after the movie. Tasted like White Chocolate Mocha Frappe with cranberry sauce poured over the whipped cream. Heh but I miss the peppermint mocha though, shall get some tml :) They closed down the Starbucks at SSC freaking pissed me off the other day >( okay thats all for Friday!
