Ex. Swallow v. 2.0
Came back from outfield yesterday and it was really as slack as I had predicted. Not in terms of the physical demands, which was roughly the same because each deployment is identical, but in terms of the mental stress level. After all, this was an outfield meant for the specialist cadets.
On the whole I have to say tt all the spec trainees sucked big time. Their training had obviously been inadequate and they have no clue what shit they were doing. If they didn’t have our platoon helping them out they wouldn’t have been able to sleep At All pretty much every single day.
We’re supposed to select some of them to join our platoon after they pass out from course, but when all their competence is equally bad, the criteria for selection then focuses on their inherent character and how they treat people. Its a pretty pathetic criteria imo, because if the specs cannot perform and we have to forever carry their weight, then it’ll be really hard for anyone to respect them.
We witnessed a lot of interesting characters during this exercise. Mainly all the wayang-ness we usually don’t see in the squadron. I’ve heard a lot about all the act-garang ppl and all the suck ups in ocs/ scs but now I got to see it up close, first hand. Not impressive. For one thing, its pretty obvious when ppl do it, and in a platoon such as ours, where wayang-ness is uncommon and unexpected, it becomes especially distasteful.
I think its really hard to take up an appointment higher than your rank and give commands to people higher ranked than you. For one, everyone can simply choose to ignore you if they wanted to, so its really a case of how nice ppl are and whether you’re likable enough. If you behave like a fuck-up then obviously ppl just fk you all the time. Which I really enjoyed doing, if I might add :p I think all the scts lack a vital ingredient of all training which is large doses of fking and shouting at, so I kindly supplemented their pathetic training. No idea which of them will join our platoon, but I don’t really care because trainees have to be fked and someone has to do it. Overall our gun detachment was the meanest simply because of all the kao-pei personalities in the det. Basically we ignored all the sct commands and fked them for doing shit during the deployment and it was really fun! :D
Our squadron is a very unique place imo, where rank means nothing without experience. As a result, you may have bars across your chest but someone with stripes could very well fk you all the same if they wanted to. Our platoon especially, is one where everyone fks each other every single day, so I really don’t think an inept sct can least a month here without breaking down XD
Alright, summex’s over. Good luck scts.
